“Perspectives" SAQA Regional Show, juried by the Pixieladies, Kris Sazaki and Deb Cashatt, being shown at LeMoyne Arts, Tallahassee, FL July 19 – August 31, 2019 38 works from 35 artists were chosen for the show. The theme deals with the varying viewpoints we have, our "perspectives" on any number of issues. Size required was 24 x 36 inches. In this one, "Meeting in the Everglades," you have the 2 viewpoints represented by the alligator who has just surfaced thinking, "can I grab that bird?" and the bird, who seeing the alligator may be thinking I should fly now! In "12 Faces of Eve" I represent twelve very different women. When we think of Eve, we think of our ancestors, assumably someone like us... but in reality, everyone has a different perspective on that.
Just encountered Elizabeth Garver's fabulous clothing and I love it! Here is some info about her:
Elizabeth Garver is an independent clothing designer committed to producing finely crafted garments with distinctive, elegant styling. Her garments are made from a variety of textured silk fabrics that are hand-dyed and accented with appliquéd surfaces. The current collection includes jackets, blouses, tunics and scarves. She also produces a small line of unique wool coats. Elizabeth began producing clothes full-time after graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Textiles from the Rochester Institute of Technology. For over 30 years she has regularly exhibited and sold her work at the American Craft Council shows in addition to participating in a number of other craft shows throughout the eastern United States. Her work is featured in Fibre Arts Design books I & II and she has given workshops and talks about her surface design techniques. Clothing boutiques and craft galleries nationwide have represented Elizabeth's work since 1982. Elizabeth Garver's studio is located in South Bend, Indiana. |
