Just been reading some posts about Jane Perkins and her beautiful art made from recycled items, particularly buttons. Talk about making something unique. She appears to specialize in portraiture.

I have a plan to make a series, yes a series finally! of season quilts. I started this fall quilt last fall, and finally finished it. I really had fun making it, loving all the crazy fall leaf combinations and trying them out. Now how long till the next editions? I just get ideas along the way and have to stop and work on them next... Also, yesterday saw my first oriole of the season! Last year it was on April 13!
Just finished a very lovely and meaningful log cabin for a very special friend. Every fabric in here means something to both of us!
Loved seeing President George W. Bush's paintings of the wounded warriors Portraits in Courage. They are powerful and raw. I think they really express something about the essence of each of these soldiers. The exhibit is currently at the 4 Arts Center in Palm Beach. Here are a few shots from around the grounds.
Walking at Taylor Creek Water Management area I was so lucky to see pairs of my favorite birds, the swallow tail kite and the roseate spoonbill. That is so spectacular. No I didn't take these pictures, but i wanted to have a pic to remember them by. The Kites were overhead as I drove home, but I did get pictures of the spoonbills. Of course my pictures were not very good, wrong setting on camera and birds flew too soon... Here are my pictures... and a few general ones too.
