Have you ever made a ruffle quilt? Well that is what I call it... there are probably other names for it. They are super cuddly and warm. I think this is the 3rd or 4th one I have made. I cut the edges on the other ones but decided to put a binding on this one. I like the more finished look it gives. And I loved the pink diagonal plaid that matched the other colors perfectly!
Have a beautiful snow here. it is so inspiring. Quilts and paintings!! Remember during the summer we installed the Narnia light! I knew it would have snow around it to complete the Narnia look. Gorgeous! Christmas 2020!!!!!!!!!!
I decided to review my class with Elizabeth Barton on Abstract Art. There was so much information in there and of course I have forgotten most of it! I think I will post some of the interesting artists she showed us throughout the classes. Barton states that color and light were important to impressionistic painters and she sees the work of quilter Joy Saville as an artist who depends on color for the structure of her work.
The color in these quilts is intense and fabulous. They are priced in the approximate 10,000 dollar each range. December came in with a bang! it's 18 degrees this morning and still snowing. It started yesterday afternoon. It's looking pretty impressive about now. Maybe when I finish up my fall trees I need to work on a snow scene?
