Life In Our Family
Here is what I found interesting. Without any planning, my 2014 quilt is very similar in colorways to my 2013 donation, which is now in the collection of Ruth LeBlanc. It must be fate!

Life In Our Family Here is my donation to SAQA's 2014 Benefit Auction. For those of you unfamiliar with this auction, its a really fun event and SAQA's major yearly fund raiser. This helps them sponsor more art quilt shows. Its really fun looking at the quilts on line and some of them are shown at the IQF in Houston. You can read more about bidding and how the process works on the SAQA website. Here is what I found interesting. Without any planning, my 2014 quilt is very similar in colorways to my 2013 donation, which is now in the collection of Ruth LeBlanc. It must be fate! The Story of the Mustard Seed This is my 2013 contribution. Both quilts are beaded; this one includes some hand dyed and stenciled fabrics. Also some Greek calligraphy I did. This year's quilt is all commercial fabrics.

Its really about Our Family Tree.... When all those birds kept getting in the quilt as I cut out layers, they looked like they were talking. And if you look closer you an see the tree and branches in the stitching. No deep meanings there! just birds yakking in a tree.
