I took pictures yesterday in the yard and the colors are so beautiful. The purples and blues are predominant in my yard right now!
Here is another quilt for my "Conversations" Series! I love comics and I love old fashions so what better combination could there be? This one is for the show in the Rose Center, Morristown, TN next month. It is a challenge quilt; it must have a basket in it, it must have something in the basket, and there must be a rose in it somewhere! I was going to do a basket of flowers and my friend T said HOW BORING!!!! SOOOOOOOOO................... Will they meet up with man sharks or shark sharks or neither? Hope these little guys I added unde the dock show up!!
I am so excited! This is the first time I have entered one of these big shows and I am so thrilled I got in the Des Moines show. My quilt, "Uncommon Edibles," represents unusual sea creatures that are eaten by humans around the globe. Some of them are familiar looking, as in shrimp or crab, yet they are the ones that for years were ignored. As food supplies shrink, each smaller species group becomes a new food "rage" and is eaten up by the growing population. Sad but true.... I love all things from the sea! And I love to depict them in my art.
