My two quilts in this show are at Cape Cod National Seashore now. They started at Biscayne Bay in Miami and have made their way around the country for a couple of years now...

2 Art quilts home from the quilt shows. "Fishing Trip" won Best Creativity Award of the show and the Guild Challenge first place and "Hummingbird" won the Innovative Fabric Award first place. This was at the Rose Center in Morristown, TN... Since the house is bursting with quilts, I am putting them in my store on Etsy! check it out, maybe you need something from there... just click the button on the sidebar to the right at the bottom to go directly to the shop.
Going a little nuts to id this butterfly and found it is the symbol of TN and named the Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly (Eurytides marcellus) I don't remember ever seeing one before... Posing on a butterfly bush, how appropriate and how beautiful! A few more garden lovelies...
Mom and Meg's is our new quilt store in Dandridge. Its so thrilling to have a quilt store close by! Glenda, the store owner, has a line of Civil War repro fabrics for sale and so I made up one of my little envelope bags for her to show off some of the fabric. We may offer a class on how to make these.
Newport, TN had a beautiful Memorial Day celebration downtown in the courthouse square. The high point of the ceremony was a presentation of Quilts of Valor to veterans of WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars by members of the Parrotsville Quilt Guild.
I enjoyed seeing these quilts that were made this winter while I was in FL. |
