Its official! My two quilts are accepted for the great show Fly Me To The Moon! What fun! its anticipated that they will travel possibly 3 years! For my topics, I chose Apollo astronauts. Fred Haise, Apollo 13 got to ride back in the heroic "save" those astronauts made in space to be able to return home when their capsule was damaged My second quilt was of astronaut Alan Bean of Apollo 12. He came back and painted hundreds of arresting, amazing and beautiful paintings of life in space. I chose to portray him now, as an artist with my version of one of his paintings behind him. Lots of hand stitching adorns the sky.

Oh it is a beautiful day... finally cool temps in the sixties and bright and sunny. It had been so hot I could not stand going for walk for the last few days! I was amazed today to see some great stuff on my walk... first of all in my yard these trumpet flowers are going wild... And the Christmas palms with their natural decor were so full of "bulb" I cut most of the stalks down early because there were so many. I guess best of all I saw three of my favorite kinds of birds: Sand Hill Cranes flying overhead and making their distinctive cry... White pelicans passing by overhead; going to hang out on the big lake... and a Bald Eagle flew right over the house top!!!!!!!!
